Jens in 2007

Jens made his own crude music player on the C64 in 1987, messed around in Laxity's player for a while, then created an improved second generation player in 1988-92, with an editor that became very popular.

In 1989, he formed the music group Vibrants together with Link.

In 1992, the growing PC lured JCH away from the C64. He made a new music editor, players and music for the AdLib and Sound Blaster cards, utilizing the OPL2 sound chip.

Finally, JCH went digital in 1995-98 and composed a few FastTracker 2 tunes. In the end of the 90's, JCH was fed up with composing music and decided to put an end to it.

He lives in Gentofte, Denmark today and works as a software tester for a company that develops surveillance software.

Although he's not composing music anymore, he is still active today as the administrator of this web site.

FastTracker 2 (1995-98)

JCH wasn't quite as productive in FT2 as he was on the C64. This is the last set of tunes he composed. In the end of the 90's, JCH stopped all musical activities.

AdLib Music (1991-95)

Contains the AdLib music by most members of Vibrants composed in JCH's EdLib editor. Also includes three special tunes with a 10th digitized track.

C64 Music (1987-92)

All the C64 music composed in 1987-1992 by JCH. It includes quick player experiments, music done in other players, digi music and the old player stuff.
How to Play

The boxes in the middle will lead you to the pages with all the music. If you have SidPlay installed on your computer, you can hear the music in the C64 pages right away. If you would rather want to download the SID music for offline pleasure, go to the High Voltage collection.

The AdLib music can be played with a Ganbatte! plug-in for Winamp or XMPlay. It also plays the three tunes that has a 10th digitized track. A few very old tunes are not supported by any known plug-in, but there are links to MP3 versions in this case.

In the page with the FastTracker 2 music, I strongly recommend that you use the XMPlay application. You can use Winamp or ModPlug Player if you want, but none of them will play

all the tunes correctly. XMPlay may also apply cool effects such as e.g. surround sound or reverb.
